I had so much trouble with the top panel. Originally I had more of the room in the shot, but I had too much trouble with the figures and decided it wasn’t important enough to show the room, there was no real need for it. I had to wrap it up though because I have two paintings to complete today.

I finished A Game of Thrones a few days ago and I know many will disagree, but I found it to be very disappointing. It was great until about half way in. I was tiring of everyone plotting and scheming, and at the end of every chapter it seemed that things just got worse and worse. After finishing the book what I thought was the main plot seems to not be, and the only subplots that were resolved to any degree were done so by killing off characters. I’ve read that Martin wanted to make his characters gray, but I think he’s simply made them all devious. I was so tired most of the way through of constant cliffhangers and disappointments at the end of each chapter, that the hope of something, anything, being resolved was the only thing that made me finish the book. And nothing was resolved. There is no closure in this book at all. I understand it’s a series but I should have some sense at the end of something coming to an end, however small. I shouldn’t feel like 800 pages were just a set up for the next book. I read the synopsis of the other books in the series that have come out, and it seems more of the same. And having ninety percent of the characters constantly scheming is not realistic to me. Neither is killing or maiming any character who shows an ounce of humanity. Anyway, my two cents on that book. It seems to be a book you either love or hate so if you’re into fantasy give it a try, you may love it. You may not.
